Ever since its first announcement in January last year, The Blood of Dawnwalker has looked extremely promising. An ambitious RPG from former The Witcher 3 devs is always going to catch our eye here at PC Gamer, and its vampiric twist—by day you're a normal human, by night you're a supernatural bloodsucker, and your approach to quests can wildly change as a result—is instantly intriguing.
But it wasn't until I got to visit studio Rebel Wolves this month and talk to the team that I appreciated quite how exciting the game is shaping up to be. If the developer can deliver on its grand promises—of a sprawling sandbox story that adapts to the player no matter what order they approach quests or what choices they make—this could be the most interesting RPG of 2026.
