Benidorm star Elsie Kelly has died at the age of 89 after a career that spanned five decades.

Kelly, who played Noreen on the ITV sitcom, died yesterday ‘surrounded by her family’, her agent confirmed.

Outside of her role in Benidorm, which she starred in for more than a decade, Kelly has also acted in various TV roles including Mrs Tardebigge in Crossroads.

And after a long break from TV, Kelly went on to appear in the 1996 film Intimate Relations.

She also appeared in an episode of E4 drama Skins and played Joan the cook in the 1996 adaptation of The Famous Five.

Her agent, Michelle Sykes, confirmed that Kelly had died after a ‘short illness’.
