People are starting to talk about IPOs going blockchain after Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, said, “IPOs will move on-chain” on an X post today, September 8, 2026. With this post, the former Binance CEO is suggesting that someday, companies might raise money and give ownership to investors directly on a blockchain. Right now, when a company goes public, it offers shares, and the traditional financial system takes care of ownership, transfers, and trading. Shifting this onto blockchain could make ownership digital, maybe even let trades happen any time, day or night.
