Stephanie Cole, known for playing Roy Cropper’s mother in Coronation Street, has died aged 84, her agent has confirmed.
The actress also starred in 1980s series Tenko as Dr Beatrice (Bea) Mason and as Dr Martin’s aunt, Joan Norton, in Doc Martin, from 2004 to 2009.
Her career spanned decades in TV, film, theatre, and radio, with other high-profile jobs including appearances in A Bit of a Do, Waiting for God, Keeping Mum, and Still Open All Hours.
