Residents in Surrey have been issued an urgent warning over dangerous caterpillars, which can cause irritation and difficulty breathing.
Woking Council has warned locals to avoid contact with oak processionary moth (OPM) caterpillars and their nests, which they say can pose risks to both people and pets.
Whilst small, they say these caterpillars can cause irritation as their tiny hairs contain toxins that can be dangerous if touched or inhaled.
Symptoms include itchy skin rashes, sore throats, breathing difficulties, and eye irritation.
