As Londoners look to cool off from this week’s heat wave, Hampstead Heath’s wildlife ponds have seen an influx of swimmers, despite it being banned in certain areas.
Despite large signs warning visitors not to swim, footage this week showed swimmers wading through the water and lying on inflatables.
One swimmer was filmed being stopped moments before climbing over a swan’s nest.
Another video circulated widely online showed a swan poking an unhatched egg with its beak after it fell into the water.
