Curse of Strahd is one of the most popular D&D modules for a reason—it's actually really compelling. Set in the misty, cursed lands of Barovia, Curse of Strahd is dominated by the titular Strahd von Zarovich, a vampire lord with a tragic backstory and a propensity for showing up at random intervals to give you a fantasy wedgie.

In the one Strahd campaign I played in, my first encounter with the man involved him bleeding our cleric and making my thief drink his blood—so, you know. Normal.

Anyway, per Deadline, we'll be getting a fully-fledged live action Netflix series about him dubbed Ravenloft—after the wider set of domains that darklords like Mr. Zarovich himself enjoy dominion over. It's being helmed by writer and executive producer John August and executive producer Alfonso Cuarón.

The latter of which worked on Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban. Fittingly, one of the darker Harry Potter films—and owner of exactly the kind of murky, grey aesthetic I'd anticipate in any series taking place in Ravenloft.
