Emergency slide activates on British Airways plane while catering was delivered

A British Airways flight was severely delayed after an emergency slide activated while catering was being delivered to the plane.

The Boeing 787 was parked in Montreal, Canada and being loaded for its return journey to London when the grey slide, seen normally only during an emergency evacuation, accidentally deployed.

A clip of the incident on Saturday showed the slide unfolding as a Newrest catering truck was unloading at the aircraft’s rear door.
