Expanding the Sugdens is a fantastic move – but Emmerdale must avoid one vital thing

A brand new Sugden has been introduced in Emmerdale. For a long time, the family’s presence in the village was relatively small, so Serena Sugden’s (Casey Al-Shaqsy) arrival marks the welcome expansion of one of the soap’s most iconic dynasties. However, while this development will strengthen the Sugden name, it’s also raised a concern for me: a number of other residents are now at risk of being pushed further into the background.
