France announces €1 billion aid for farmers recovering from drought, heatwaves

France on Friday allocated more than €1 billion in aid to support farmers recovering from droughts after a brutal, record-breaking summer. The allocation includes €520 million for rapid payments to ‌help farmers deal with weather damage and a €235 million recovery ​fund to buy seeds, plants and ​animal feed, Agriculture Minister Annie Genevard said.
