Gang of teens fire catapults at pensioner putting him in hospital

A pensioner was shot by a gang of teenagers armed with catapults that are terrorising a market town.

The victim, in his 70s, was hit in the arm in a busy high street, according to locals in Cranbrook, Kent.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after five young people shot catapults towards a pensioner at 6.30pm on Tuesday 16 June.

The suspects are described as aged between 16 and 18 years old and ran off towards The Hill area, known locally as The Crane.

Officers spoke to the victim, attacked on Waterloo Road, before he was taken to hospital.
