Government will ‘come back to VPNs’ in next step of social media ban

You may have seen the government is planning to block under-16s from accessing many of the top social media sites.

But you might have missed that they’re also planning a second bite at the cherry next month.

What more is there to announce?

Plenty, apparently. In March, the government launched a pilot programme that ran alongside the hefty three-month consultation on children’s online safety.

It involved 300 teenagers in all four nations of the UK being given one of four ‘interventions’ to see how they handled it.
