‘Highway to Hel’ 666 bus is resurrected after backlash from religious conservatives

‘All aboard for Hel!’ may well have been heard at Warsaw’s western station on Friday as a controversial bus service made its triumphant return.

Coach operator FlixBus has resurrected the notorious 666 bus route, three years after religious complaints forced the bus to change its number.

In Christian tradition, 666 is known as the number of the beast, but this bus doesn’t go to the underworld – it goes to Hel, a small resort town on Poland’s Baltic coast.
