Muslims invaded Spain in 711 and conquered almost all of that country. They held Spain for centuries, until the Christian Reconquest finally drove out the last of the Muslims in 1492. The Reconquest has always been regarded as a glorious chapter in Spanish history, but its current far-left, socialist government seems to be on the other side.
Spain’s government had already given 500,000 illegal aliens, mostly Muslims, legal status in that country. That was the context for yesterday’s attack by Moroccans on the Spanish territory of Ceuta, which Bill Glahn wrote about here. Suddenly, thousands of Moroccans swam or boated around Spain’s fence into Cueta. Why did this happen all at once? They seem to have gotten word that the Spanish authorities wouldn’t stop them.
