A woman who two years ago accused the rapper Jay-Z of sexual assault when she was a teenager has conceded that there was “no truth to any of my claims”.
In a legal declaration filed last week, the anonymous woman, referred to only as Jane Doe, wrote: “My allegations that Shawn Carter [Jay-Z’s legal name] raped me or otherwise sexually assaulted me were false. I have never met Mr Carter.
“Mr Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever. There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr Carter.”
