Man, 52, dies after ‘incident’ in Rochdale, sparking murder investigation

Police have launched a murder investigation following an ‘incident’ in Rochdale, which led to the death of a man.

The 52-year-old was found unconscious after officers were called out to reports of an assault on South Parade in the town during the early hours of this morning.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed he was taken to hospital for treatment, where, despite the best efforts of emergency services, he later died.

His family members are being supported by specialist officers.
