Man in hospital and woman arrested after ‘chemical attack’ in Sussex

A man has been taken to hospital following an incident involving a chemical substance in Crawley this morning.

Emergency services arrived at a house on Fletcher Close in the West Sussex town’s Southgate neighbourhood after being called at around 5.10am.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The man who was injured in the incident was also 40 years old, Sussex Police said.
