Marvelous Mrs. Maisel set decorator Mary Kate Golding dies in ‘suspected murder-suicide’ stabbing

Mary Kate Golding, the set decorator behind hit shows including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Goosebumps and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, has died aged 34 after she was fatally stabbed in her New York home.

Police discovered Golding with a stab wound to her back after responding to a 911 call reporting an assault at her apartment in Astoria, Queens, shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

In a statement, the NYPD said: ‘On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 0024 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault inside of 18-64 41 Street, within the confines of the 114 Precinct.
