The memorial is being established at the boarding school in honour of the 122 haemophiliac boys treated there during the 1970s and 80s. Students at the school were infected with the deadly viruses HIV and/or Hepatitis C as a consequence of their treatment with contaminated blood products whilst pupils at the school, and subjected to unethical research, without any informed parental consent.
