The Met Office has confirmed it’s looking likely the mercury will soar again next week, with the prospect of one final heatwave before the end of the month “certainly not out of the question”.
Sharing an update on 14 September, the national weather and climate service said the latest outlook for next week (21 September) supports “a spell of drier, sunnier and warmer weather next week, particularly across southern parts of the UK”.
According to WXCharts, Thursday 24 September could see scorching conditions in the south of England, with possible highs of 27C.
