When Emily Bowen was in the third trimester of her first pregnancy, she couldn’t bring herself to remove the tags from her new buggy.

‘I just felt something was off,’ Emily, 33, remembers. There had been warning signs.

Her unborn daughter, Esme, was small and an early scan had detected an irregular heartbeat. ‘You just get that mother’s instinct when something’s not right,’ the dog groomer from Swansea explains.
