People Judge Social Class More On The Bus Than At Work, Study Finds

If you want to find them, class markers – accents, postcodes, and more – are everywhere.

And given that inequality in the UK is already high and is growing, you might think we’re all side-eyeing each other’s apparent advantages constantly. 

Not so, a new study published in Scientific Reports has found. After tracking 6,150 observations from 301 working adults in Singapore over six days, they found that most of the time (about 82%), we’re not paying attention to one another’s class at all.
