Scout volunteer sexually abused five children and made them ‘pinky promise not to tell’

A Scout volunteer has been jailed for more than 20 years after using his position to sexually groom five children.

Mark Ellett took his young victims to secluded areas and told them to ‘pinky promise’ they wouldn’t report his assaults.

Ellett, 32, won the trust of parents, before using it to abuse their children, including assaulting several minors under 13, Taunton Crown Court heard.

The sexual predator continued to deny the allegations as he was investigated by police, falsely insisting the victims and their witnesses were making stories up.
