As the days grow longer and the weather warms up, Brits are slowly returning to the beach.

But there are several UK seaside spots you’d be better off avoiding, as new research has revealed the 20 ‘no-go’ zones, where swimming – or even dipping your toe in the water – is not advised.

That’s because sewage and dump waste is polluting the sea.

These beaches have been classified as ‘poor’ for water quality, which is the lowest rating given by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
