When I’m plodding along at my local swimming pool, it’s all about R&R.

I’m not there to set new personal bests or complete my lengths at the speed of light. I’m there to calm my brain down a little bit and unwind.

So, you can imagine my surprise when, during a recent visit to my local pool for a slow, unserious session, I noticed that the swimmer behind me was quickly becoming impatient.

For a minute, I thought I’d mistakenly plonked myself in a faster lane, but no.
