TV star detransitions after living 12 years as a trans woman: ‘Those years weren’t a mistake’

A TV star from the reality show Love & Hip Hop Atlanta has announced he’s de-transitioning after spending more than a decade living life as a trans woman.

D Smith, who is now going by he/him pronouns, has starred on the series since 2016, which follows a group of people in Atlanta who work in the hip hop music scene.

In a new Instagram post, Smith explained that he’s strived to follow his heart for the majority of his life, ‘even when the path wasn’t easy to understand’.
