Two killed in helicopter crash trying to tame Yosemite ‘dome’ inferno

Two pilots were killed when their helicopter crashed carrying out water drops on a wildfire at Yosemite National Park.

The crew were working with firefighters using ropes to rappel from helicopters to reach inaccessible terrain.

The Super Puma was using a water bucket to help quell the fire when it went down southeast of Ostrander Lake.
