Unseen photos reveal the devastating aftermath at Ground Zero days after 9/11

They’re images permanently etched into the minds of billions.

Smoke smouldered from tonnes of wreckage where the World Trade Center once stood while rescue workers waded through the rubble in the days following the September 11, 2001, attacks.

While the aftermath was covered extensively across the media, a new, haunting collection of previously unseen photographs show the devastation at Ground Zero.

A total of 147 powerful images have been released 25 years on from the attacks that left 3,000 dead.
