I never understood why football fans would physically get out of their seats and yell at the telly until I watched this year’s The Celebrity Traitors.
I mean, I’ve seen some wild reality TV in my time. But watching newly-appointed Traitor Richard E. Grant stand up in front of his peers to say, “I am a Traitor!” was a generational jaw-dropper – one even production was apparently unprepared for.
Yet already, the Faithful have fallen victim to the show’s trap: what is a bluff, or a double bluff, or a non-bluff?
It might be hard to understand from the comfort of our sofas. But lying really is much harder to spot than we realise.
