Welcome back to What I Own – Metro’s property series where we speak to homeowners about getting on the ladder.

When Claire Champion first met her husband 10 years ago, she was living just outside the city, in a flat she’d bought a couple of years prior.

They’ve been together ever since, and when Claire moved into John’s £200,000 former bungalow, she knew she wanted to take her hand to it.

The pair now live without a mortgage, and Claire still rents out the flat she was living in when they met.
