Greg Rusedski has criticised Wimbledon’s decision not to hand retiring British tennis star Dan Evans a singles wildcard.

Former British number one Evans was hoping to play in the men’s singles event as a wildcard after announcing he would retire at the All England Club last month.

But SW19 bosses did not grant him his request, instead giving him a wildcard for the men’s doubles – a decision Evans described as ‘disrespectful’.
