Woman and child die after being pulled from water in London park

A woman and a child have died after they reportedly got into difficulty in water in a London park.

The tragedy struck in Elthorne Park, Ealing, this afternoon after the alarm was raised shortly before 4.30pm.

The police pulled the pair, believed to be a mum and her son, from the water.

Despite the best efforts of the first responders, they succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Police officers are working to identify their next of kin now.

Their ages have not been publicly announced.
