ITV has acquired all five series of ‘one of the best’ period dramas of all-time just in time for the weekend.

Poldark was an instant smash when it was released in 2015, starring Aidan Turner as Captain Ross, a soldier returning to Cornwall after the American Revolutionary War. 

It swiftly became a phenomenon, arguably thanks to Turner’s impressive torso which regularly went viral with plenty of shirtless scenes, as well as the gripping romance between Ross and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) which made for unbearably addictive television.
